What is a little known fact about yourself?: I own 52 pairs of shoes

List any interesting, non-athletic hobbies, talents or unusual facts about yourself that could be useful in a feature story:: Painting, photography, film, dance, theatre, drawing and music! Any and all art forms

Any other personal tidbits that people would find interesting about your life that would make a good feature story or human interest story (i.e. overcoming a personal or family tragedy, a handicap, etc.)?: I have lupus and hypothyroidism, 2 autoimmune diseases. Hypothyroidism affects a hormone in my body that slows down my body. This affects my hair, skin and nails which isn’t too extreme, the main issue is when it can make me very tired, gain weight randomly and slows my heart and blood flow. Lupus causes my body to attack itself, causing damage to certain organs and has given me early arthritis. Making my joints swollen and inflamed constantly. These couple of things can make playing volleyball difficult at times but staying active and doing something I love helps tremendously.

Who is your personal hero/idol and why?: Cleopatra She was a powerful leader who faced immense challenges during her reign. Her ability to navigate political intrigue and maintain her kingdom in a male-dominated society showcases strength and resilience. Known for her intelligence and charisma, Cleopatra was able to command attention and respect. For a teen girl in sports, embodying confidence and a strong presence can be key to both performance and leadership, whether on the field, in the locker room, or within a team. Cleopatra was aware of the importance of her public image. She carefully crafted her persona to be seen as a powerful and divine ruler. Her lavish appearances and strategic use of symbolism (like her association with the goddess Isis) helped to solidify her status and authority. This was particularly important in a time when female rulers faced skepticism and challenges to their legitimacy. Cleopatra was not just a figure of beauty; she was also highly intelligent and strategic. In sports, strategy is crucial to success, whether it's understanding opponents, developing game plans, or making quick decisions during competition. Cleopatra was involved in military campaigns alongside Mark Antony. She played a crucial role in the naval Battle of Actium (31 BCE), where her forces sought to challenge Octavian's fleet. While the battle ultimately ended in defeat, her involvement demonstrated her willingness to engage in military strategy and leadership. Cleopatra was known for her dedication to her country and her people. Cleopatra embraced both Egyptian and Hellenistic cultures, presenting herself as the reincarnation of the Egyptian goddess Isis while also being educated in Greek philosophy and politics. This duality allowed her to connect with her Egyptian subjects while also appealing to the Greek and Roman elites, making her a unifying figure in a culturally diverse kingdom. Her commitment to her goals resonates with me to strive to excel in my life. Finishing school and pushing forward with volleyball. Even in the face of defeat, Cleopatra was strategic about her legacy. Her death, which was a political maneuver in itself, ensured that she would be remembered as a queen who fought fiercely for her kingdom and autonomy, rather than one who surrendered. Cleopatra's legacy has been celebrated in various forms of art and literature, making her a cultural icon. By embodying these qualities, Cleopatra serves as a multifaceted role model, encouraging young female athletes to embrace their strength, confidence, and individuality while pursuing their dreams in sports and beyond.
